TAMPA, Fla., – This Saturday, families are invited to bring their dogs for free examinations, rabies vaccinations, and county license tags for the 3rd Annual Healthy Dog Day. Hosted by the Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation and the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, the event is scheduled to take place this Saturday, February 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town ’N Country Recreation Center at 6039 Hanley Road in Tampa.
“It is our mission to see every pet live a healthy, happy life and educate those on what it means to be a responsible pet owner, events like this allow us to fulfill our mission,” said Dr. Adriana Odachowski, President of the Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation. Each dog will receive a comprehensive examination by a Veterinarian. Rabies vaccinations will be given to those healthy enough to receive the vaccine. Numerous volunteers from the veterinary industry, rescue organizations or just animal lovers will be there to help and answer questions regarding pet health and education.
Hillsborough County Pet Resource center will be issuing licenses to those with a Hillsborough County address and valid identification.
This free event is open to residence in zip codes: 33614, 33615, 33625, 33626, 33634 and 33635. Dog owners should bring a driver’s license or other form of I.D. with proof of address. Dogs must be on leashes (no retractable leashes); no cats at this event, please.
